Listen "Learn more about NICE's new guideline on identifying and managing adrenal insufficiency"
Episode Synopsis
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence has, for the first time, published a guideline on the identification and management of adrenal insufficiency, a rare condition which occurs when the adrenal glands do not produce enough essential hormones – particularly cortisol and aldosterone.
We're joined by Dr Helen Simpson, a consultant endocrinologist at UCLH NHS Foundation Trust and Sally Tollerfield an endocrine clinical nurse specialist at Great Ormond Street Hospital, to discuss the guideline and the benefits it will provide to patients and healthcare professionals.
