Listen "COLOSSIANS - The Discipline Of Staying Rooted "
Episode Synopsis
Saint vs. ChristianWe are saints; meaning we are disciples and if disciples it means we believe and if we believe then were are made Holy and how we are made Holy is in accepting the message of Christ in His fullness and understanding that apart from Him we are nothing but only in Him do we find identity, strength, meaning and life.Faith. the works for the saints. The faith then that we profess is not grounded in hollow philosophies or fanciful anecdotes but rather deepened in knowledge with wisdom and spiritual understanding.Faith in Jesus not faith in faithTo have faith in Jesus means we know Him and trust Him to be The Way, The Truth, and The Life to everything that concerns us. Faith is not The Way, The Truth, and the Life Jesus is.HOW TO STAY ROOTEDSEEKIf then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. - Colossians 3:1FOCUSSet your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. - Colossians 3:2SACRIFICEPut to death therefore what is earthly in you:[b] sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. - Colossians 3:5DEPENDPut on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. - Colossians 3:12-17THE HEART OF A ROOTED LIFEWhen you do these things, you will find yourself:Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. 3 At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— 4 that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.5 Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.Colossians 4:2-5PrayingBeing VigilantGratefulPraying and Supporting MinistryBeing WiseRedeeming the timeSpeaking
