Listen "A Clash of Powers"

Episode Synopsis

All around us, there are two powers at war.  These two powers have been at war since the very beginning.  They are opposites in every way.  One represents all that is good and the other all that is bad.  One of these powers pulls all of creation towards destruction while the other pulls it towards perfection.

The first power has caused civilizations to crumble.  It has broken families and cultures alike.  This power has brought famine into the world along with disease and suffering.  It has drawn people to steal from, to harm, to enslave, and even to kill others.  This power has brought addiction into our lives, shame into our hearts and betrayal into our relationships.  It has left innocent children as orphans.  It has filled people with fear, with rage, and has drawn them to act out in destructive ways.  This power has infected culture in every possible area and has robbed people of their God-given sense of purpose and value.  In fact, this power has separated people from God, Himself.  Because of the existence of this power, our lives have been touched by pain, loss, suffering, shame, regret, disease, and ultimately death.

The second power is the opposite of the first.  It has given people purpose and value.  Where there was pain, this power offered healing.  Where there was addiction and bondage, this power offered freedom.  Where there was shame and guilt, this power offered forgiveness and a fresh start.  Where there was rage and turmoil, this power offered peace.  Where there was brokenness, this power offered restoration.  This power has healed lives, restored marriages, drawn the wayward child back home, and it has given joy, love, peace, kindness, and so much more to this world.  Ultimately, it has sought to reunite us with our loving Heavenly Father.

All around the world, people are remembering and recounting the story of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  The story has been told for over 2000 years now and will be told again and again until the end of time…and even into eternity.  Many know Jesus died and rose again, but how many of them really
understand what it means?  The resurrection marked the moment where the tide shifted in the battle between these two powers.  Where the power of life overcame the power of death.  Where the power of Jesus overcame the power of sin.
