Seasteads are self governing communities on the ocean (artificial floating islands and structures), started by groups motivated to experiment with social ideas. Thousands of them may soon be found on our planet, offering would be citizens the option to try a variety of new social systems and innovative policies, without having to convince whole nations first. In this episode we will see how seasteads can offer better environments to test a revolutionary idea which is starting to get back into the public's consciousness: universal basic income. Current UBI experiments are very problematic and perhaps counter productive. We will see how to structure such tests better and how the combination of Seasteading and UBI could finally put the debates to rest. Not just more useful, but also more ethical.
