Listen "Global Loan Opportunities for Budding Entrepreneurs (GLOBE)"
Episode Synopsis
Bill Horan and NCC Student Zac Turkel talk to Linda Sama, Associate Dean and Professor at St. John’s University, and the founder of Global Loan Opportunities for Budding Entrepreneurs (GLOBE) – an academic microcredit program that engages students in providing microloans to entrepreneurs living in poverty around the world. In this program, borrowers develop small businesses or expand existing ones with a GLOBE loan, helping themselves out of poverty with dignity. At the same time, GLOBE students learn about managing a social business and glean insights into how business can be a vehicle for positive social change.
