For the longest, I never understood what our elders used to say “Forgiveness is not for the other person, it is for you.” It wasn’t until I hit rock bottom in 2017 that I inner stood what they meant. My brother asked me for a favor that triggered my hurt, anger, and frustrations towards my family during a time when I needed help the most. Now, I am sharing what I did in order to forgive myself from the past.
