Listen "Remembering Jesus"
Episode Synopsis
Think about someone in your life who meant a great deal to you. What do you remember about them? Is it the good things, the bad things, a little of both? Remembrance was critically important to Jesus. It wasn’t for His ego, though. He knew that the world and life experiences would try to convince us that the opposite of Jesus’ character is true. He also knew that remembering Him correctly would lead us to a lifestyle of peace and Sabbath, even during life’s most troubling times. That’s the beauty of communion that we easily miss. We often see it as a rote religious tradition rather than a moment to pause and reflect. Yet in the elements of the bread and wine lie the mystery and joy of the Gospel and Sabbath. Jesus’ invitation to draw near to Him made in Matthew 11 is echoed in the humble nature of the Lord’s supper. It’s in the simplicity and intimacy of a meal that Jesus invites us to become friends, not slaves. The question is whether or not we will choose to accept His invitationTo get a digital copy of our Sabbath 2024 devotional, “Come Unto Me,” visit https://anyflip.com/xhevv/pmcc/
