A graduate of the Conservatorio de Castella, Nochi’s unique style blends acoustic instruments with DJ sets in captivating performances that combine various musical genres with deep Latin American roots. From Calypso, Cumbia, Afro, Footwork, and Dub Reggae to Latin club with a touch of Dembow, he invites you on a journey through the anthropology of sound. Nochi’s project, "Sinergia," is a comprehensive album that explores Costa Rican bioacoustics and its relationship with contemporary electronic music. This artistic and documentary research path has resulted in a distinctive sonic exploration. Currently, Nochi is on the third release of his album, with more singles set to be released soon, adding exciting chapters to this creative dynamic alongside various collaborating artists. In addition to his music, Nochi is the creator of AFROCUMBIA events, a vibrant space that celebrates cultural diversity through a journey from Africa to Latin America. These events highlight the profound resonance of cumbia with indigenous and African roots, transcending continental borders. As the co-founder of D.U.B Deep Underground Beats, an influential Artist Agency based in San José, Costa Rica, Nochi has been at the forefront of the country’s electronic music scene. Established 20 years ago by four friends with expertise in music, club culture, promotion, radio, and design, the agency has significantly propelled electronic sounds at events nationwide.
