Listen "Experiential Learning Through Virtual Simulations "
Episode Synopsis
In this episode we talk about how Simulation Canada, Colleges and Institutes Canada, and Douglas College use simulations-based experiential learning techniques to scale up clinical competencies for health sciences and allied health fields. The pandemic was one catalyst for this growing trend of simulation in healthcare and the recognition of its value in helping students achieve relevant competencies. Simulations-based learning brings institutions, organizations, and employers together to ensure students can fulfill their skillsets in-line with the current and future needs of their hopeful industry through the emulation of real-world circumstances, processes, and challenges. Through this conversation we learn about the best practices of facilitating, applying, and scaling virtual simulation and how you can also benefit from this approach to experiential learning.
