Listen "Garry Eveleigh"
Episode Synopsis
Garry Eveleigh was a fisherman. He was also a boat builder and the skipper of a ferry which took passengers from England's south coast to the Isle of Wight and The Needles. Now in his mid-sixties, he is enjoying another incarnation as one of Britain's most sought-after foragers. He takes groups on guided tours of the New Forest National Park, teaching a mix of ancient country skills and modern botany while collecting elements of lunch or dinner. Recently, he moved to the island of Mallorca where, on a gloriously sunny December day, he educated Million Hours' Mike McDowall.
