Hello everyone! This weeks Headline Hangout is going to includes a story from Lansing, Michigan where a kid was punished for disarming another kid that brought a gun to school. Then we cover a story from Kentucky where the Kentucky supreme court rescinds a previous ban on no knock warrants. Finally we discuss some of the controversy and finally break our silence on the Charlie Kirk assassination.11 year old kid suspended for one year after disarming another kid who brought a gun to schoolIn May 2025 a kid brought a gun to school and when he showed his friend he quickly disarmed the weapon by removing the bullets and disassembling the gun. The kid who disarmed the other kid threw away the bullets in a trash can and did not notify a teacher. This resulted in the Lansing school district suspending the kid from school for one whole year.Kentucky supreme court rescinds ban on no knock warrantsOn September 18th, 2025, the supreme court of Kentucky struck down a ban on no knock warrants with a 4-2 ruling. This ban came after a no knock warrant was served on Breonna Taylor’s apartment where officers burst into her apartment and her boyfriend at the time shot at officers causing them to return fire killing Breonna. No knock warrants are unconstitutional and create environments that are very unsafe for officers. These types of raids are normally done late at night to the early morning with the cover of darkness, and typically served for drug related crimes. The justification for them is said to be so that criminals don’t have time to get rid of evidence before police can find it.Charlie Kirk’s assassination discussionOn September 10th, 2025 political activist Charlie Kirk was shot and killed while holding an event on the campus of Utah Valley campus. Since then many conspiracies have arose, and many statements have been made. His memorial was held on September 21st, 2025 where many people made speeches those to include were: President Donald Trump and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, among many others. I believe that the speeches they gave were very inflammatory and unnecessary for the occasion. During a time of heightened political violence coming to the supporters of this administration, it was just unnecessary.Jimmy Kimmel to keep doing show that no one will see -back on air after suspension for Charlie Kirk commentsOn September 17th Jimmy Kimmel was fired by ABC and affiliates for lying about the shooter who committed the assassination on Charlie Kirk. Now they have announced that the show will be returning, but will only aired by 27% of the affiliates. Gavin Newsom Signed a bill banning law enforcement not under his jurisdiction from wearing masks The bill does not apply to LEOs that ARE under his jurisdiction. This comes on the heels of California considering re-instituting mask mandates for literally everyone else.On September 20th Gavin Newsom signed a bill banning federal agents from wearing masks inside the state of California. Protests, arrests and assault in Florida as the state removes.......................... street artRecently Florida banned street art in the state. This means street art that involved LGBTQ+ designs was removed. Quickly activists came to repaint the street, then it was removed, then they came back and redrew it with chalk. It was removed again.
