Listen "Men's Adventure Fiction Podcast E69: These Noirs Make Us Question EVERYTHING"
Episode Synopsis
This week on the podcast, we tumble down a shadowy staircase of cigarette smoke and existential confusion as Noir November rolls on. We start with The Postman Always Rings Twice and quickly realize we may not actually know what “noir” means. Is it about moral decay? Moody lighting? Or is The Postman Always Rings Twice just an especially well-dressed soap opera with better lighting and worse decisions? We try (and fail) to draw that line. Then we dive into Night of the Hunter, where Robert Mitchum’s knuckles spell out LOVE and HATE, and the Mississippi runs thick with Southern Gothic dread. Are we still in noir country, or have we drifted into a fever dream of hymns, horror, and hypnotic preachers? Either way, the water’s fine—just… don’t look too closely.Veritas Noir is sneaking through the season. November 18th the collection of short fiction and photography goes live!!.Here at the Men's Adventure Fiction Podcast we discuss the heroes and stories of the genre and how they can positively impact our lives, and enrich the world around us. The Men's Adventure Fiction Podcast is a subsidiary of Veritas Entertainment, whose only goal is to highlight incredible creators who want to tell the stories they have always loved, in book, film, or any other medium.
