Listen "#20 Past, Present & Future"
Episode Synopsis
Abstractions of time, we created to make sense of the fact that we are going to die. "They" say that the past is dead and the future unborn, so all we can worry about is the present. But how can we do that when we are consumed by imagined scenarios and past traumas? Memento Mori Lab does not have the answers, but we do have this episode to raise more questions and hear some poetry on that subject.
What's Memento Mori Lab?
Memento Mori Lab is our permission slip to experiment, try new things, and keep bringing ideas to life. In my case, that means writing mediocre poetry, some stories and scripts, doodling, and recording this podcast. Memento Mori reminds us, we are going to die. Whatever creative endeavor you've been postponing, now is the time to take action.

Poems
Past, present, future
Abstractions of time, segments of life,
The burden of living knowing we die.
Like a child's hand, dipped in old traumas,
The past sticks to our skin and does not let go.
We cling to what we know, our tales of time.
Memories woven together, the patchwork of time.
A mistake was made when we labeled today,
Today is not the present. It's mostly past and future.
The present is fireworks, bursting here and there
Moments we lose in thought when we look away.
The future is always ahead but never to reach.
It sits in front of our thoughts, untouchable
Like a mirage in the middle of the desert
Of the best and worst case scenarios.
Abstractions of life, segments of time,
The burden of living knowing we die.
