Listen "Pesachim 76 - Influence or Inspiration?"

Episode Synopsis

This episode demonstrates how we can apply foundational halachik principles to universal  life lessons. The difference between heat as a point on a thermal scale and heat as an active verb highlights two different forms of impact: Influencing another vs inspiring them. A hot item in a kli sheni (second degree from the flame) can influence an item it is in contact with to absorb or expel tastes and substances, but only a kli rishon (first degree from the flame) can cook another item it is in contact with. People are similar: some can influence others, but there are people who are inspired first degree sources of inspiration.
