From two images, the grain and the withered hand, we learn a fundamental lesson about who Jesus is and what his ministry is all about.On the surface, this episode makes it sound like Jesus does not care about what is lawful. Instead, He is going to distinquish between what is lawful and unlawful. These points collectively depict Matthew’s high Christology, portraying Jesus as both the divine Son of God and the promised Messiah who fulfills God's promises in Scripture.
