This is simply due to ignorance and failure to study the book of Acts properly. John the baptist said the following-I baptise you with WATER for REPENTANCE, but after me comes one (Jesus) who will BAPTISE you with the HOLY SPIRIT (From above by the Holy Spirit of God). The disciples were taught by Jesus how to baptise, yet not one Church ever does what they do, which was after Jesus died and went to heaven. The teaching coming out of colleges and seminaries is totally out of context by taking statements by Jesus literally in Mathew Chapter 28 BEFORE He died, and failing to apply the rules of context; not only that, they also fail to carry out His commands as to make disciples and teach them His commands.
