Welcome to Majors & Minors at Cal Poly Humboldt!This show takes a close look at the rich academic offerings of our campus and all of the areas of study that can be pursued as a student. Each episode features an interview with a department Chair or a Professor and focuses on the specifics of an area of study and the value of that pursuit both inside the college experience and beyond. This week, Christine Cass, Chair of the ⁠Department of Oceanography, joins the show! Because of Cal Poly Humboldt's location along the northern coast of California, this is a really interesting field of study and topic to discuss. Our lives here are very much defined by proximity to the ocean dnd there many opportunities for students in this department that engage directly with the area.  Christine gives a great sense of all that is going on in this program and the varied opportunities and topics that are all available to students within the field of Oceanography.
