Listen "Special: The City of Lund and international students (part 2)"
Episode Synopsis
On the podcast, we've covered a lot on what Lund University has to offer its students, but what about support, guidance, and community from the local authority? The city of Lund (Lunds kommun, or Lund Municipality) is engaged in many initiatives and projects that aim to support internationals in the region, from helping them to settle in and find a community to learning Swedish and securing work. In this special double-length episode - the second of two parts - host Timothy Parker (LU Corporate Communications) was lucky enough to sit down with two different panels of guests, representing different projects associated with the City of Lund:We first discuss EU Days Lund, a leading national arena for discussing EU-related issues, hosted by the City of Lund. Featured guests are Moa Ageberg, Head of External Relations for the City of Lund, and Simon Berg, Project Manager for EU Days Lund at the City of Lund. Together they discuss what the EU Days are, the importance of the issues discussed there, the range of speakers and guests, and how international students at Lund University can get involved and enrich their skills and networks. Then, we speak with Femke Podsedkowska, Student Coordinator for the City of Lund, about the various ways in which the City of Lund supports international students. Topics include the municipality's contributions to Arrival Day, how they help with the challenges that students face, their connection to student union representatives, events and projects like the International Citizen Hub, and much more.
