30 May, 2025 – MASSACHUSETTS – Two dozen states disagree with the federal government's right to terminate parts of AmeriCorps and have taken legal action in response. MA Atty General Andrea Joy Campbell has co-filed a lawsuit along with 23 other states and the District of Columbia against the federal government, arguing irreparable harm and highlighting Congress' sole power in creating and dismantling federal agencies. We sat down with the AG to talk about the lawsuit. We also spoke to a constitutional lawyer about the constitution – what does the legal procedure look like when the federal government is being sued?
