Listen "Western River R.R."

Episode Synopsis

Unlike the railroads at Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, Disneyland Paris, and Hong Kong Disneyland, which circle the park, the Western River Railroad at Tokyo Disneyland takes a totally different route.
Guests board at the station in Adventureland, which is a worldwide exclusive. The Western River Railroad is the only Disney Parks railroad in the world to have an Adventureland station. It’s also the only Disney Parks railroad to have only one station. Supposedly at the time it was built, Japanese law required trains with multiple stations to operate on a schedule and collect fares, so Imagineering devised this attraction as a solution to keep a railroad in the park without adhering to those regulations.

The train heads north out of the station, located on the second level of the Jungle Cruise dock, toward the New Orleans area of Adventureland, taking a right turn to circle the perimeter of Jungle Cruise. It travels south-east along the park boundary, passing a non-operable Stillwater Junction Station, until it reaches the Rivers of America and heads west into Westernland. It passes Splash Mountain in Critter Country, without ever getting a glimpse of Fantasyland, because it turns toward Big Thunder Mountain, where you get great, close-up views.

This is where the train makes a left turn around the mountain and into a familiar corridor that houses the Primeval World diorama. Note, the Grand Canyon diorama is not present here. After, the train hangs a right and pulls into the station.
I once thought this version of a Disney Parks railroad felt cheaper than the others, but I’ve grown to really love this specific version of it. It travels a good chunk of its total route around the Rivers of America, thus providing it frequent chances to be alongside the Mark Twain Riverboat.
