017: Today on the podcast we are talking to Karen Marinella Hall! Karen Marinella Hall is an executive coach and communications consultant. Her clients range from senior leaders transitioning into a larger role or executives who find themselves stuck at a crossroads struggling to get to the next level of their careers. She often helps them with their interpersonal communication skills to be better leaders and motivators and overcome mental obstacles holding them back. Before starting her own business, she was an executive coach with Bates Communications where she worked  with senior leaders at Fortune 1000 companies with a focus on executive presence. Karen also was a longtime award-winning news anchorwoman in Boston.

In our conversation, we cover many topics, including the importance of communication skills at work, especially for leaders and executives and the challenges posed by the pandemic for workplace communication; the "Eat the Frog" strategy for tackling your most challenging or arduous tasks; and the joys and challenges of starting her own business. Karen also got candid about some of the struggles she faces in scaling her business and the mindset shifts she is taking to combat them.
