Thug is the name of a violent person, usually used when referring to criminals.

An example of the word thug used as a noun in a sentence would be:

Stop acting like a thug, let's be nice to our guests.

Or, Her appearance make people think she's a thug, but she's actually a very kind and sweet person.

Synonyms: ruffian, hoodlum, bully, bandit, gangster.
