Quash has two meanings. Firstly it is to reject something as invalid. Secondly it is to put an end to or suppress.
An example of the word quash used in a sentence would be:
The new evidence was enough to quash the conviction and she was set free.
Or, He had to quash the rumours now before things got too out of hand.
Synonyms: cancel, reverse, withdraw, end, terminate.
Antonyms: validate, prompt, aid, yield, surrender.
