Today’s word of the day is miscellaneous.

Miscellaneous is a descriptive word therefore it is an adjective.

Miscellaneous has two meanings. Firstly it describes a group of people or things as being of various types or from different sources. Secondly it describes a collection or group as being composed of members or elements of different kinds.

An example of the word miscellaneous used in a sentence would be:

She grabbed a handful of miscellaneous sweets from the bowl on her way out.

Or, They banded together to form a miscellaneous collective.

Synonyms: various, different, assorted, mixed, diverse.

Antonyms: homogenous, simple, singular, uniform, alike.
