Today’s word of the day is columnist.

Nouns are words that we use to name things. It can be a person, a place, a thing, an idea or concept. Therefore, columnist is a noun.

A columnist is a journalist who regularly contributes to a newspaper or magazine.

An example of columnist used as a noun in a sentence would be:

She was their best columnist, the newspaper rose a lot in popularity since she started writing for them

Or, The company is looking for an experienced and outspoken columnist for their magazine.

Synonyms: writer, contributor, journalist, correspondent, critic.
