Christmas came in July for the Detroit Pistons during the NBA Draft when they selected Cade Cunningham as the new face to their franchise, and what they hope is the beginning of the restoration of the Pistons. Team owner Tom Gores has now owned the team for a decade, and he says this is the most optimistic he’s been about the direction of the team since he assumed control.
“I’ve never felt better,” he said. “I woke up this morning and felt like we won already. We haven’t won a game yet. We felt like we won. I feel excited about where we’re at, but I also know through my life experiences we’ve got to go to work. We’ve got a great foundation.”
