Listen "What is an ISP?"
Episode Synopsis
ISP stands for Internet Service Provider. In short, an Internet Service Provider is a company in the business of connecting people to the Internet. You, as the computer user, pay a fee to the ISP and in return, they connect your computer (or computers) to the Internet. Phone companies, cable companies, cellular providers, and other telecommunications companies are usually businesses that provide Internet connections. They may offer additional services, but we're talking about them being your ISP right now.
