The Bible practically invented the concept of the underdog. We immediately think of David, the shepherd boy, standing toe-to-toe against the Philistine giant Goliath, or Elijah challenging the 450 prophets of Baal on Mt. Carmel, or Joshua’s troops assaulting the mighty citadel of Jericho. However, Gideon vs. Midian is one of the greatest underdog stories that tends to be forgotten. In this exciting chapter we are going to learn three important principles on how God wins. As you might imagine, God’s ways of achieving victory are not from the ordinary playbook.
