Their marriage got off to a promising start, but by the time we open Gen. 27, they have drifted apart. Years of parental favoritism has divided this family. Isaac prefers his athletic, brawny, son of the wild—Esau. While, Rebekah shelters and nurtures her “mama’s boy”—Jacob.
