James was baptized in the Church when he was young but didn't ever fully subscribe to the religion. He experimented attending different religions but after feeling shame from mental health struggles, James decided to leave religion completely. But when his mom threatened to cut him off if he didn't come back to faith, James decided to re-evaluate what he believed.
