New red light cameras near the Philadelphia Art Museum will be activated on Monday.
A 60-day warning period starts Monday for the new cameras at Kelly Drive and Eakins Oval. Effective Jan. 8, red light runners at that intersection will be mailed a $100 fine.
Red light cameras operate at 34 intersections throughout the city. The Philadelphia Parking Authority, which runs the red light camera program, says cameras have reduced red light running by 58% since 2005.
