He was chatting online with a teen girl, and planned to meet her at a hotel in Cherry Hill. Problem for him: the 14-year-old was actually an undercover detective. And now the guy's charged with attempted sexual assault of a child.
That's what Camden County Prosecutors say of their investigation into 51-year-old Michael Marchionese. They accuse the Pine Hill man of asking the girl for nude pictures. That would be a first-degree crime: attempted manufacturing of child sexual abuse material. Marchionese is also charged with attempted luring and attempted endangering the welfare of a child.
He was arrested by U.S. Marshals and is being held in Camden County Jail. A court hearing is set for January.
