Episode Synopsis

Spanning hundreds of years before the advent of medicine, women have developed home remedies and herbal medicines to treat diseases. The knowledge of this was often passed down through recipe books and oral histories. Women would add to these from their own knowledge or what they had learnt from others. Archives have shown us the ways women across the ages nurture and heal themselves, interrogate the intricacies of the Universe and medicine, creating a better and more equal world for others. An arts and heritage podcast that shines a light on the sunshine Vitamin D and its all-powerful influence on and in our lives.Take a journey through the story of sunshine and Vitamin D through five different lenses - migration, food, equality, health and nature.
