Proverbs 15:22 - Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisors they succeed. 

When you receive counsel have discernment of who you take advice from. Sometimes people can lead you in the wrong direction because they are jealous or whatever reason. Ask God to lead you in the right direction along with putting the right people in your life to get you to where you need to be; and that is in the will of God, living in purpose.

Also if you walk with the wise you become wise! (Proverbs 13:20)
