Send us a textset your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things Colossians 3:1-2Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8Paul continues to remind us to focus on the good and Godly. Just as he instructed us in Philippians to focus on the good, he again tells us to "set our hearts" on Christ. God knows our nature which is to focus on the earthly desires, but we have been changed and that new nature needs to be fed and trained. Just as an infant didn't eat steaks right away, we can't immediately understand the things of God, but as we mature in Christ, our understanding can grow and expand, which leads to our nature changing. Paul started Colossians by encouraging them to grow in the knowledge of God and to gain the wisdom and understanding that comes from the Spirit. In chapter 3, he reminds us to focus on Christ who sits next to God in Heaven. It's all part of our growth process. Join me in reading Colossians 3 and be encouraged! Just a Guy and His World
