Snow melts off the roof of a red cabin. Sparkling water droplets fall and make puddles of crystal on the snow covered ground. Birds whistle and caw—an approaching eagle in the pale blue sky? Or maybe an acknowledgment of the returning geese to the lake just beyond the tree line. In the distance, a dog barks in the front yard of its owners home just to hear itself bark.
