Imam Jawad Ahmed is a distinguished Islamic scholar and community leader with over two decades of experience in religious education and outreach. He holds a Bachelor’s (Honors) degree in Usool-uddin (Islamic Sciences) with a specialization in Tafseer and Hadith from the International Islamic University in Islamabad, Pakistan. Additionally, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park, and obtained certification and a teaching license in Arabic and Islamic Studies from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt.

Throughout his career, Imam Jawad has served as Imam and Director at various masajid across New Jersey. He was the Director of Religious Studies at Al-Ghazaly Islamic High School for over eight years, where he developed and implemented comprehensive Islamic curricula. Currently, he serves as the Religious Director at both the Muslim Community of New Jersey in Fords and Masjid Al-Wali in Edison, NJ, delivering khutbahs and lectures that resonate with diverse congregations.

A pioneer in Islamic outreach, Imam Jawad is one of the founding members of the National Dawah Organization 1-877-WhyIslam. For the past 20 years, he has managed the 24/7 hotline, leading a team of over 25 volunteers and facilitating more than 200 shahadahs over the phone. His dedication to dawah is further exemplified by his involvement in various initiatives aimed at educating the broader community about Islam.

Imam Jawad is also highly regarded among the youth. Since 2001, he has been a pioneer murabbi (mentor) for the Young Muslims organization under ICNA, guiding young Muslims in their spiritual and personal development. His efforts have been instrumental in nurturing a generation of informed and engaged Muslim youth.

In addition to his roles in religious leadership and education, Imam Jawad actively participates in interfaith dialogues and community service projects, striving to build bridges of understanding and cooperation among diverse communities.
