Listen "It's Called A Crash Diet for A REASON: How Chronic Dieting Wrecks Your Metabolism, Mood, and Mind"
Episode Synopsis
Nutrition could be an entire season of the podcast, but I wanted to address the constant noise around dieting especially as we head into summertime. While there's nothing wrong with wanting to look good or feel comfortable in your skin, the glorification of "thinness" above health is worrisome.Food is a deeply emotional and challenging topic for many of us; it's tied to cultural identity, personal self-concept, and society's narratives about being "good" with food. Each of those could be their own episode, so I have attempted to stay within the scope of health effects from dieting in this show.In this episode, you'll learn about the unintended consequences of dieting- from nervous system dysregulation and irregular periods to bloating and actually slowing down your metabolism. We will cover some of the mindset shifts that guide my clients away from dieting and help them experience greater health, stronger bodies, and more stable moods.Apply to Work with MeFree Resources + Product DiscountsHave a question?
