Listen "#9 Takeover by Hannah Rasmussen about cultural identity "

Episode Synopsis

Today's episode will be part of a new serie that will take place within this podcast. After having three episodes completed by your host (Melinda Karaca), there will be a takeover episode done by someone else.

Hannah Rasmussen, a third year student at ITEPS (International Teachers Education For Primary Schools), will be discussing cultural identity from a personal perspective.

Hannah grew up partly in Denmark and Belgium. Once she graduated so moved around between Switzerland, Denmark and the Netherlands. With all the international experiences she always encountered the same identity questions of who she was, what nationalities she belonged to and what she defined herself as culturally.

These identity questions can be common in international classrooms and insightful for educators to be aware of.
Hannah summarises key points of what students may go through and what educators can do to embrace and support it.

I (Melinda Karaca) was very lucky to have her for this takeover episode and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Thank you Hannah and thank you all for listening.
