Listen "ITS007: Immigrant Communities"
Episode Synopsis
Isn't That Spatial is a podcast dedicated to casual geography and the spatial component of whatever. This explores the immigrant communities in urban areas, new and old. We are quite familiar with the historical immigrant communities of older American cities such as Little Italy, numerous Chinatowns, German Villages, etc. that have become urban landmarks. On this episode, we’ll look at how these older immigrant enclaves emerged and explore the newer trends in immigration in our cities, as well as the impact these demarcated communities have had then and now – aside from all the great food, of course. Show notes and links are available at IsntThatSpatial.net.
