Generally, photosynthesis and Electromagnetic spectrum are the major factors that affect the color of the plant. As such, plants look green because they absorb red light most effectively and the green light reflected. That is, Primary Red Light gives green light complementary, Primary Blue light gives Orange complementary, and Primary Yellow light gives Purple complementary.
