We conclude our exploration of the word “saved” and “salvation” by examining the role that “work” has in the believer’s life. If God justifies us once for all time, what is the purpose of works? Scripture describes how God had planned for the body of Christ to work as part of our sanctification journey and to forward the work of building and strengthening the body of Christ as well as making new disciples. Christ looks forward to rewarding us for our labour for Him. He will review our efforts at an event known as the Judgment Seat of Christ. So what is the criteria for good work versus useless work?
