In order to preserve His history and truth, God changed the way He interacted with mankind. Instead of sharing about Himself directly with everyone, He disrupted world history to work with Abraham and his family. God planned to use Abraham and his descendants to record Scripture and then return as missionaries to the pagan world. So God called Abraham out of his pagan culture and made a covenant with him.
