I declare that I am a friend of God,
I declare that I walk in agreement with the King of Kings.
My hands are held by the hands of the one who holds the world.
What a faithful friend you are,
You're a friend who is brother yet  you are the friend who sticks closer than a brother.
You're a friend who is not repulsed by my darkest days nor overwhelmed by the pandemonium that sometimes features in my world.
I am so glad God, that you are that friend I can always freely shed ugly tears with,
Knowing you won’t flinch for a millisecond.
Not even once have you not picked up my call,
Even during the ungodly hours I tend to pester you,
It is you who consistently holds space for me 
And coaxes me to fully  occupy that space 
Holding me for hours at at time,
If that’s what it takes for my heart to learn to beat properly again.
You are that friend who lovingly but firmly makes me make eye contact with truth.
And serves it to me with a side dish of grace.
The friend who orchestrates my biggest testimonies and who is so invested in my joy.
The friend who is forever both searching and creating opportunities to show me kindness.
The friend who never lets me feel that this relationship is transactional.
Teach me O’Lord to be a faithful friend to you.
Teach me Lord how you love to be loved, how you love to be truly honoured.
What tickles your soul and colors your world, Lord?
Teach me all of it.
So help me spirit of the Living God
