As Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 11:25, Jesus said "This cup is the new covenant in my blood" before He went to the cross. Covenant is very significant as it's a declaration of parties who want to be loyal to one another, to protect one another when one experiences conflict from a third party. And communion is a sign of us being in a covenant relationship with God, reconfirming that we are taking sides in this conflict - and it's also a time to evaluate. So if we find we are going wrong we can repent and step back into all God has called us to be. We might become more aware of conflict in the spiritual world as we understand what's happening, but every time we take communion we can remind ourselves that we're in this amazing covenant relationship with the Lord of all! --- Wie Paulus uns in 1. Der Bund ist sehr bedeutsam, denn er ist eine Erklärung von Parteien, die einander treu sein wollen, um sich gegenseitig zu schützen, wenn es zu Konflikten mit einer dritten Partei kommt. Und das Abendmahl ist ein Zeichen dafür, dass wir in einer Bundesbeziehung zu Gott stehen, eine Bestätigung dafür, dass wir in diesem Konflikt Partei ergreifen - und es ist auch eine Zeit, in der wir Bilanz ziehen. Wenn wir also feststellen, dass wir auf Abwege geraten sind, können wir Buße tun und in all das zurückkehren, wozu Gott uns berufen hat. Wir werden uns vielleicht des Konflikts in der geistlichen Welt bewusster, wenn wir zunehmend verstehen, was geschieht, aber jedes Mal, wenn wir das Abendmahl nehmen, können wir uns daran erinnern, dass wir in dieser wunderbaren Beziehung mit dem Herrn der Herrn leben!
