Father Micah shares with us insight into this Major Feast by giving us background information about The Theotokos' parents Joachim and Anna, who were barren until they prayed to God for a child who they would dedicate to God. Mary was brought to the temple by her parents at the age of three where she grew in favor with the Lord. Today we celebrate this event and pray that we too might remain faithful and trust God in difficult circumstances. We must learn as Mary did and the Saints that through time and with effort we too can grow in favor with the Lord.
