Listen "EMDR: Healing Trauma Through Reprocessing "
Episode Synopsis
In this episode, I dive into my personal journey with EMDR—Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing—a powerful therapy often used to heal trauma, anxiety, depression, and even grief. EMDR helps your brain reprocess them so they no longer feel as heavy or overwhelming.I share what my first EMDR sessions were like, the different methods therapists use like eye movements, taps, and buzzers and what it actually feels like during a session. I also talk about the reality of what comes after: the exhaustion, the emotional release, and why you may not want to plan much else for the day.For me, EMDR was a year-long process that shifted from weekly to biweekly to monthly sessions. It wasn’t always easy, but it helped me feel less triggered, more grounded, and able to move forward without reliving the same pain over and over again. If you’ve ever struggled with memories that still control your body and mind, this episode is for you. EMDR might be the tool that helps you release their grip and step into a healthier version of yourself.
