Listen "Hey! Language! Ep1"
Episode Synopsis
I chose to make my project into a podcast episode because they’ve been a recent obsession of mine. I find myself listening to many at work and have always wondered what the process is like, from taking analytical work and processing it into informative, casual repartee. I find myself becoming quite nervous when I record myself in any capacity and thought it would be a good way to work on that as well. I chose to make this project a podcast because I wanted my research on language, culture, and power to feel alive, not just read on a page. Speaking the script out loud allowed me to connect with the topic in a more personal way and made the arguments feel more urgent and human. It also gave me the chance to practice public speaking in a structured, low-pressure setting. Recording the episode forced me to slow down, enunciate clearly, and think about pacing, skills I struggle with. My work felt more raw, honest, and clear, which not only are writing goals for me, but also personal ones.
