Listen "011 - A Year in the White House: Jonathon Westbrook"
Episode Synopsis
Text a Message to the ShowToday I am talking to Jonathon Westbrook, a police officer in Kansas City, Kansas, who was selected to be a White House Fellow. The White House Fellows program is one of the most prestigious programs for leadership and public service in the country, where young people, usually in the early 30's, are selected to work for one year alongside White House staff, Cabinet Secretaries, and other top-ranking government officials. The selection process is extremely competitive and over the last 50+ years, former White House Fellows have risen to the highest levels of military service, government, and private industry.Becoming a White House Fellow would be the most notable item on just about anybody's resumé but today I want you to hear Jonathon's humility and heart for service. Listen for the different ways that he contributed to the betterment of his department as a police officer and the unique paths his law enforcement career has gone. I hope Jonathon's example encourages you to think outside the box about the ways you can improve yourself and improve your community as a law enforcement officer.Links and resources:OK Program - www.okprogram.orgCALEA - www.calea.orgWhite House Fellowship Foundation - www.whff.orgMusic is by Chris Haugen from the YouTube Audio Library and by Winking Fox Music from Pixebay.Hey Chaplain Podcast Episode 011Support the showThanks for Listening!
