Listen "Cross-cultural friendships, swimming, and art with Kaeti Bailie"
Episode Synopsis
Kaitie Bailie is an artist, an open water swimmer, and a bridge builder. Since she moved to Sonoma, she's done all three, forging a connection to Sonoma's sister city in what was then the USSR (now Ukraine), Kaniv; opening an art studio and exhibiting paintings throughout the Valley; and swimming to Alcatraz, Elba, across the Bosphorous, and more. Among her many talents she is a painter, a photographer and a poet, and is she's keen on sharing her work and experiences. She ran Artifax, a store on the plaza dedicated to showcasing beautiful international artwork and clothing, and throughout her travels she has always kept an open eye on what makes every culture special.
In this episode, we discuss some of her travels, her thoughts while swimming the frigid seas, and her heroes.
